Indianapolis, Indiana, March 2, 2016 - Jorge Cevallos, Escuderia Telmex driver from Baja California, sponsored by Caliente Casino, Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles, Baja California Tourism, Tersa Tires, Aba Cargo; made his return to racing wheel cars with the technical support of JDC Motorsports team in the prestigious development series Pro Mazda "Road to Indy" in the United States official, as part of their preparation to return to wheel cars on the continent in short time.

Cevallos was discharged satisfactorily after a medical recess that kept him 20 months out of competitions due to a condition that required several surgeries and specialized medical care, forcing Jorge to pause as a racing driver in the international development agenda that Escudería Telmex headed by Jimmy Morales had planned for him.

Jorge feels very motivated with his return to international competitions as a race driver to JDC Motorsports team (winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2016 in the category Prototypes team) planning making his debut in US tracks and resume high level competition which he has always shown.

Meanwhile John Church president and CEO of JDC Motorsports commented having high expectations for this season with the athletic talent and experience Jorge Cevallos has aboard the # 19 JCD / Telmex / Mazda 240 hp and mounted on Cooper tires with the intention of winning the 2016 championship of the support and development Mazda Pro category prior to IndyCar .

The Pro Mazda Road Seriest to Indy  season will consist of 18 qualifying races in 9 permanent circuits and 2 ovals as part of IndyCar racing along and across the United States. * See: www.starmazda.com/schedule

Jorge Cevallos comments:

"I am excited to return officially to racing, it’s been a long process of recovery, but I worked hard not to give up my career despite my health obstacles which were quite singular; I went through moments of uncertainty about my future as a driver in 2015, but was in the hands of the best specialists and trainers who helped me through this difficult time and I feel ready to compete for a new championship.” Started Jorge.

“During the last months and throughout the winter I’ve worked hard in my therapies, getting strong and fit, training in karts and track, getting ready for this new commitment. If I work well I know we can do well and have good results.”

“For this year we have a big change in category, the car changes and tracks do as well. Everything moves up to a very competitive level. The Pro Mazda car of this category is a much faster car, 240 hp, has much more development and downforce, with more mechanical grip, and with this combination tires need more grip in curves. I will also count with the support and experience of James Hinchcliffe, who will help me make the transition as quickly as possible.”

"Now we go straight to the official practice, and that is where we will see exactly how we’re doing against other driver in this category; this year we are on very ambitious goals, which is to be consistent in the results, keep ourselves in the Top Five, get as many podiums as possible, and try to reach the checkered flag race after race, and I'm ready for it.” He continued.

"I thank those who have made it possible, to take another step in my career: Thank God for this opportunity. The most important thing is to be here and back to my passion; I want to give special thanks to my family; doctors who treated me; my friends and fans who never left me, and especially my sponsors, Carlos Slim for believing in me as a person and athlete; to Escuderia Telmex, Caliente Casino, Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles, Tersa Tires, Tourism Baja California, Bell Safety Equipment for the support they have given me.”
